Another Ryanair baggage question

Sorry for the boring topic but I'm flying Ryanair next week for the first time and have mixed messages about hand luggage. I have booked priority so I am fine with the 10kg wheeled bag. I'm a bit confused about the additional under seat bag.
I've had an email saying I can take a small personal bag such as handbag, laptop or small backpack as long as it fits under the seat. I've also had an email saying it can be max 40x20x20.

The bag I was planning on taking is a soft fabric backpack that is 35x25x15. I'm only going to have my tickets, passport, purse and kindle in this bag. I may add a meal deal but it still won't fill it. Am I right in thinking that as long as I don't stuff it, I will be ok taking this or are they likely to measure my bag. I've used this bag on a different airline before and it fit under the seat and that time it had my DSLR and iPad in too.

It’ll be fine if it’ll squash into the sizer. We take Kanken backpacks and they’ve been fine
Also if you buy your meal deal at the airport you can have an airport shopping carrier as well ( I took 2l gin last time😂as well)

Yes that's fine

Thanks, my bag is similar to a Kanken, so good to know you've been fine with it. I'll only put my meal deal in if I want a spare hand 😂
