Recommend me a nice king size bed

I'm looking at the White Company, Loaf, John Lewis, sofa.com and now I've gone into a vortex and am too confused to know what I want.

For DS12's bedroom which is huge. I want it to be nice and smart so we can turf him out and make it a smart spare room when the inlaws come and stay. May even go up to super king for this reason.

Can someone recommend me one? I don't want to spend a fortune but happy to pay £1000 on bed and a few hundred on decent mattress. Or reverse those figures if better.

Please tell me what to buy! Poor boy has been in scruffy bunk bed all his life and we've promised him a new bed for years.

This is the bed I have, looks better in real life. Really easy to dress up or down. Save the money for an expensive mattress rather than the bed frame.

I got something similar to this in grey with a matching headboard. Fab storage.

Thanks all I shall do some googling. One of those things you think you'll order in half an hour but two hours later you're scratching your head wishing you'd never thought of it!

I got my 11 year old a TV bed, he loves it. You can get them quite cheap (eBay/amazon and the like) and spend more on the mattress.

Spend more on the matress, less on the bed

Have a look at the Premier Inn beds .
They are Hypnos and sold through Premier Inn .
Such comfortable beds . MIL needs a new bed and I am thinking of booking a night in our local PI so she can try one out .

Premier Inn beds, who knew!!! I have a Hypnos mattress for DD and it's the most comfortable in the house!

Thank you.

On a similar note, anyone bought a bed from Loaf? Quite like some of their French ones...

This one is the high end of IKEA mattresses and it's amazing. www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/hidrasund-pocket-sprung-mattress-firm-natural-20372711/

Get whatever frame looks pretty and then get a great mattress. I just bought 3 IKEA mattresses: two middle of the range and a better one. They are all fab, so sturdy and comfy. Guests have commented on their comfiness.
