Hi, I am in the process of buying a house and solicitors have sent me the documents. They have sent this envelope to send the signed docs back in? Does this stamp mean the postage has been paid for me to send it? I'm having a dull moment! Thanks!

Yes I would say postage is already paid

JuniperBeer · 25/09/2019 19:59

Yes, that envelope has already been franked at the solicitors. Just pop it in the post box or at the post office if you have to send with a receipt

That is metered mail franked on 20-09-19, it should really only be put in the post on the day it is franked. It needs to be handed in at a post office or placed in a business post box. This type of franking should not go in a regular post box.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 25/09/2019 20:05

Yes it says £1.03 so it’s paid for

topcat2014 · 25/09/2019 20:09

@lonecatwithkitten rather tragically I thought exactly the same as you :)

Msgiggles30 · 25/09/2019 20:24

Ah okay. Glad I asked then! I will hand it in at the post office just incase.

@Msgiggles30 as the franked date has past the post office are entitled to refuse it.
Franked mail
Has guaranteed delivery dates that is 1st class large letter up to 250g based on that franking date the post office were obliged to deliver it on 21-09-19.
Your solicitor does not understand the difference between reply and franking. They should be providing reply paid envelopes.
