1920s house with parquet flooring in hall dining room and sitting room. It’s in good nick, nomissing blocks. But could probably do with a refresh. I tak3 if that’s not a diy job?

You can hire sanding machines to do it but as it’s so old I’d research the life out of it first.

It sounds a real feature.

I would do as Fluffy said and do a bit of research. You might need an expert's advice. My parents had parquet flooring when I was younger but am clueless as how they looked after it but I know they did.

The research is a bit confusing, you seem to need a special sander. Would hate to ruin it.

I think I would take professional advice, maybe a few quotes. I found this and it brought memories of our floor being waxed. Apparently sanding is not a good idea. Good luck.

We found parquet under our carpet, I googled for recommendations and a man came to sand and polish it. It cost about £600 to do but there was no mess and it looks brilliant now.
