Forgot windows 10 laptop password and admin password

I bought my DD a new laptop a few months ago and all was going good until today when she got back from school and told me she tried to get into her laptop today and she cant remember the password to anything. It's not written down anywhere either.

I tried password reset and she cant remember the password to the gmail account she made so cant reset it. She tried resetting her gmail account password but cant because she set up no security questions or phone number or back up email address. she has an admin account which she doesnt remember the password to. I tried trouble shooting and removing everything from the laptop and its asking for her admin password which she doesnt know and cant reset. I dont know what to do

I also forgot my password for my surface pro, and was at the point of having to do a full factory reset, when I remembered it.

There's no limit to your amount of tries.
Keep putting in what it could be.

When did she last remember the password?

If she's just having a blip today, leave it and have a think for a couple of days and hopefully it'll come back to her.

If she hasn't used the password since setting it up, try with her sitting exactly where she was when she set it up.

Also try and find out if there's an odd request in the password such as a symbol has to be used. She may have used her usual password and then stuck a * or something on the end.

Has she backed up her work?

YouTube. I reset my dad’s to factory settings last week, although it wiped the files, obviously. You can do it without wiping files, tho. Example:

Cherrysoup, It's asking for the administrator password when I tried to wipe everything. Which she cant reset and doesnt know.
