What's the worst drug experience you've ever had?

NC'd for this!
My DSis were talking about our heady young days and the 'dabbling' we did Confused
For the record, I'm talking a few episodes of stupidity many many years ago, and am not in any way endorsing drug use, in fact this thread could be seen as more of a cautionary tale.
She told me that once she took magic mushrooms and had a completely awful experience where she felt nothing was real and she would be stuck in the 'dream' forever. She honestly never thought she'd get out. Never did it again.
I had a horrible experience on pills when I thought I was two different people. I kept switching between the two people and it was awful, I had no idea who I was or what was happening and it lasted about 3 hours Sad Never touched anything ever again, that was about 15 years ago.
What's your worst experience?

Not recreational drugs but I'm on Fentanyl patches. The gp increased the patch to a much higher one and I was hallucinating like crazy.I was laying in bed with spiders and rats running along the shelves! I have gradually reduced down to the lowest patch as I really want to get off these things.

ongranaryplease · 23/09/2019 22:48

Salvia like SRK16. Also thought it’d be just like weed. I had about two puffs before I realised it felt different and I honestly was paralysed with sheer terror. I was with my closest most trusted friends and every fibre of my being was convinced they were going to assault and kill me.

PotPlantKiller · 23/09/2019 22:51

I thought I was taking mdma once but I suspect it was Ketamin, I couldn't move my body at all although my brain was working and I was enjoying the music still.

I took speed one night and the dome down was awful. No was lying on my kitchen floor for about 3 days, couldn't eat, felt weak. Kept seeing things moving out of the corner of my eye.

Fuma · 23/09/2019 22:58

Weed doesn't agree with me at all. Like, not in the slightest. Completely freaked out altered consciousness the works and I only did it twice but same both times. Ended up in A&E! Same with some anaesthetics so it's definitely a chemical thing. Fine on coke, pills, mushrooms and even dirty speed but weed is fucking evil. I actually hate that people smoke it so much everywhere these days as after my experiences even the smell makes me proper panic. I wish they'd legalise it so that they could control where people smoke it same as they do tobacco.

NemosPoorlyFinn · 23/09/2019 23:07

Iv never taken recreational drugs
But I had an amazing time on diclofenac and oramorph after having a c-section Grin
The general anaesthetic made me feel like I'd been hit by a bus though Confused
Wink

FreshwaterBay · 23/09/2019 23:11

Yellow Chartreuse. Legal and bad.

Fuma · 23/09/2019 23:13

Oh I do like oramorph. All opiods actually. Love them. Even dhc which I think is a bit different and doesn't agree with everyone. Don't get me wrong, I've only ever taken them when prescribed and needed but given half the chance I'd be right there in an opium haze for the rest of my days.

HoobleDooble · 23/09/2019 23:14

My friend and I would sniff deodorant before they took the CFCs out. I remember trying to tell her I was stuck in the TV and she shouldn't turn it off, but she was too busy trying to work out how many houses there was in the world too listen.

I also once found a school friend of mine hiding behind the bushes in my parents' front garden. He'd been on mushrooms and said the crocodiles were after him (it was bin night and everyone's green wheelie bins were out on the pavement). 😂

justilou1 · 23/09/2019 23:15

Morphine allergy.... massive panic attacks and itchy as hell. Was scratching my face with a hairbrush until it bled.

JustBeingJobless · 24/09/2019 00:43

Only illegal drug I’ve ever done is weed and had an excellent time with that! I was always too scared to try anything else as a teen, and my experiences as an adult with many prescription drugs has made me realise I was probably right to be cautious.

Amytriptaline makes me sleep walk and have night terrors. I’ve been known to get in the car, fast asleep, and attempt to drive. Stopped taking it at that point!

Morphine - I thought things were crawling under my skin and was trying to take it off to get rid of them!

Tramadol makes me slurry and like I’m very drunk. I’d rather just be drunk the conventional way tbh.

I absolutely loved magic mushrooms until the short-sighted and puritanical government banned them and made them a class A despite them being less dangerous than alcohol or nicotine. I watched Eurovision on them once. I didn't think it could get more weird, hilarious and spangly than it normally is bur, oh yes, it could. Not only that, Dr David Nutt is absolutely spot on as to their effect on depression. The cynic in me wonders if the government was leaned on by the pharmaceutical companies just so they can sell us micro-doses for £££ more than you could have bought an entire box of mushrooms at Camden Market when trials have been completed.

Anyway, after they were banned, I went to a festival where there was a stall selling legal highs. I was hoping to recreate the mushroom experience so I explained to the chap on the stall what I wanted and he sold me a product. It wasn't like the "mushroom" experience. It was more like the "having your head kicked in violently and repeatedly by a psychopathic horse without the mercy of being able to lose consciousness" experience.

The time I had a seriously bad chesty cough, dosed up on cough syrup then went to a gig and had a couple of G&Ts (well within my normal tolerance) didn't go so well either. I woke up in the hallway with both cats' faces about an inch from mine, looking concerned.

Zoflorabore · 24/09/2019 01:42

One night around the age of 17, had a few bongs. Then ended up shagging someone in a wardrobe Blush

That was memorable

OkPedro · 24/09/2019 01:55

zoflorabore 😂😂
I had so many good times using rec drugs
I used to love the hallucinations when dancing in the dark after taking pills. I smoked hash, and the paranoia and hallucinations nearly killed me!
Speed had me awake for days talking to cats from my bedroom window 😂
The worst drug I ever used was coke, absolutely awful stuff. The anxiety was like something I’ve never experienced.
Did anyone completely forget what they were talking about mid sentence while taking pills? I used to love this we’d fall around laughing. Ah I wish I was 18 again

LiveInAHidingPlace · 24/09/2019 01:58

Accidentally took ketamine and passed out for several hours in the middle of a club. Why would anyone take this at a party? It was awful.

Took too many pills and ended up blacking out by myself at home several times. That was scary.

LiveInAHidingPlace · 24/09/2019 01:59

Oh God and I once took loads of speed and thought a shadow was following me for several days.

More good experiences than bad though and I was so desperate to escape reality in my 20s that the fuck ups never deterred me.

managedmis · 24/09/2019 02:05

Some of these are horrendous.

Haven't taken much in the way of drugs, had some weed and couldn't stop laughing?

Worst I ever was was from too much Red Bull - I didn't sleep for about two days! Knew a lad who had about 8 cans, he didn't sleep for four nights Shock

meccacos2 · 24/09/2019 02:23

Prescription oxy - I hate it so much I tell the hospital I’m allergic to it (I just feel horrible when I take it)

A combination of morphine and fentanyl makes me lose consciousness - drops my heart rate dangerously low I pass out and wake up to a medical team panicking around me.

RhinoskinhaveI · 24/09/2019 02:36

My worst experience was with homemade cannabis edible, other than that I've only ever had a mellow time with cannabis😊
Those with trauma from bad acid trips, I wonder if EMDR therapy would help you?

mymonkeysmycircus · 24/09/2019 02:49

once she took magic mushrooms and had a completely awful experience where she felt nothing was real and she would be stuck in the 'dream' forever

Basically this, but from a brownie with weed in it! I'd had weed brownies before but ate some somone else had made at a party. I thought the same 5 minutes was repeating over and over and I was trapped in that 5 minutes forever. It was terrifying.

mymonkeysmycircus · 24/09/2019 03:10

Night Nurse, however, does something horrible to me. I think it's the decongestant in it - last time I had it I thought the air had turned into the consistency of golden syrup. Eeeuurrgh.

Might this be the Promethazine in it? It's an antihistamine that makes everyone drowsy. It's used in psychiatry as rapid tranquillisation (usually alongside something else)

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 24/09/2019 06:14

I’m wondering if the Canadian flu remedy a PP took was NyQuil. It’s evil.

Had no issues in my formative years with E or speed. Loved those nights out. Had a bad trip the only time I tried acid. Never again.

Tried morphine for the first time just before I had my appendix removed. Lovely stuff!

Charley50 · 24/09/2019 06:19

On mushrooms in Brixton Academy 'back in the day.' We'd picked them ourselves and I overdid it a bit.
First of all I melted into a metal railing thing for what felt like hours.
Later on I forgot who I was, where I was, what anything was. I thought if I lost sight of my friends I would simply cease to exist. Proper existential terror. Was so glad just to get through the night and come out the other side.

Charley50 · 24/09/2019 06:34

@milksoffagain - sorry and RIP your brother. Similar story in my family.

polkadotpixie · 24/09/2019 06:55

I had a great time doing illegal drugs in my youth...ecstasy, ketamine, coke, speed etc and no bad experiences

Weed doesn't agree with me, I feel like I can't move. Didn't like it at all

The worst reaction I've had is to IV cyclizine. I literally felt it travel through my veins up to my brain, it was like being shot into space, I was so dizzy and sleepy. I'll never have it again and insisted on odansetron for my c section to avoid that horrible feeling again

GinUnicorn · 24/09/2019 07:49

Mostly I had a really fun time but the worst experience was entirely my own fault. I got cocky and decided to take 3 pills like a total twat.

I ended up spending about two hours just panting on a room with my friends before I recovered. Luckily I was fine but that was incredibly stupid.

I also saw a friend completely freak out on 25ci

These days I’m very straight
