Explain how I get a job- everything's changed!

Dh lost his job last week. It’s all been a nightmare as company folded and won’t even get his predicted redundancy now. I qualified as an accountant at the beginning of this year but have been out the full time game for a long time chugging along with my one client part time from home as dh was by far the bread winner.

My last paid full time role was in 2015 in London £40k. When looking at jobs the salaries seem really bad now, as a qualified maybe I’ll get less than that now. Am wondering if to start on a lower paid role and train up into something.

If anyone has any ideas that they think might help me I’d be grateful. Not even sure the routes you take to get into better paid roles now. Happy to earn less now if it means I’ll have a solid career in future.
I don’t have a degree, annoyingly was planning to start one next year but doubt that will happen now.
I liked working and missed it so now push has come to shove I just want to get back into the game. I am desperate and also fed up relying on dh. Want to use him being at home with dc as an good reason to get myself back into work before he tells me I don’t need to work etc, I think I do and definitely want to!

Getting in at a slightly lower level than you are qualified for (in big firms) gives you a chance to look at the career landscape and see where you would like to position yourself. Might take a small hit salary wise in the short term.
Look at indeed.co.uk or similar perhaps?
Or look at www.civilservicejobs.service.gov.uk for roles with accountancy leanings...

Thanks @MrHaroldFry I will take a look. Realise now maybe I shouldn’t have taken this long to try to get back into it all.
