I'm on the couch MNetting with a cuppa. DD and DH are still snoozing. Cats are pottering around.

We're moving house next week so we're spending the afternoon packing urgh. This morning we'll go for a walk in the forest and then home for breakfast of bacon and eggs. Dinner will be pork belly done in the air fryer and fried mozzarella sticks.

We were up early, woken by thunder. I’ve prepped the roast dinner and stewed rhubarb for friends coming over later. Put the covers on the garden furniture - will we see it again before May? Doubtful!

DC off out to rugby and swimming with DH a little later this morning.

Have promised to help DS with his chemistry homework, so hopefully we will break the back of that this morning whilst the younger DC are out.

Then friends over for a roast dinner and we’ll probably all flop down in front of a film.

CherryPavlova · 22/09/2019 08:43

We were at a wedding yesterday so hotel breakfast and check out. Eldest will drive herself and fiancée back home. We’ll drop youngest back to university then walk dog before checking in to another hotel on the way back and having a swim before meeting my in laws for an early supper.

cookiemonster5 · 22/09/2019 08:43

Been up awhile here. Sat watching the lion guard while ds3 aged 2 eats grapes blueberries and strawberries. His 3rd course if his breakfast lol.

Ds2 has been up, ate and disappeared so think he is laying in bed playing in his phone.

Ds1 is nowhere to be seen but he is a teen so I'm not surprised.

Hubby is still in bed. May have gone back to sleep after fixing the tv which we discovered wasn't working when ds3 tried to put it on this morning.

I have school clothes to iron, need to do my nails, go to the skip with empty boxes and might pop up to see my folks this afternoon if we have time/can be bothered to leave the house.

Tea is a party like buffet of stuff (sausage rolls, vol au vents etc...) so won't take long to sort and will be on paper plates or napkins so not much dishes which is a bonus since the dishwasher is half full already.

Chocolatecakes · 22/09/2019 08:44

We are on day 2 of potty training ds so confined to the house which I don’t mind as it’s pouring. Reading for dd, roast dinner later, swapping wardrobes over to winter clothes as well

fatisnotafeeling · 22/09/2019 08:44

DD2 and friend and DS are eating their breakfast. Then no doubt will go back upstairs into their iPads/ phones/ laptops.

I am just eating my weetabix trying hard not to be sick (morning sickness).

I then need to tidy up and get DC to have a shower, they won't have time later as we are off to in-laws for dinner so will be back later.

I need to summon the energy to tidy up, this pregnancy is tough with tiredness roll on second trimester.

milliefiori · 22/09/2019 08:48

Cat has been on my chest giving a mew monologue since about 7am. DH finally got up to feed him. DTeens both having a lie in after a late party last night. Pottering day today. Laundry and gardening and catching up on a bit of work.

RedElephants · 22/09/2019 08:48

Sitting in bed with coffee...
Celebrated our boys 21st & 18th Birthdays, bbq with friends and family last night..
Got to get up and tidy the garden.. in the rain shortly Shock

BeyondMyWits · 22/09/2019 08:51

MIL coming for lunch - am peeling spuds, cooking beef casserole and dumplings and cauliflower and carrots.

It is "not a Sunday roast then?"... but I am beyond caring.

Ragwort · 22/09/2019 08:54

First full day as ‘empty nesters’ here as DS has now gone to uni Grin, going to have a massive clean and sort out of his room, probably hasn’t been done thoroughly since we moved in 10 years ago.

Church this morning, will pop into work as have had a few days off & want to make sure everything is OK before I go back tomorrow (charity shop and the unsaleable donations can mount up Sad).

DH is doing the gardening, watching rugby and going to the gym.

Not very exciting but we have had a lovely two days away dropping our DS at Uni and exploring the city (not with him, he was making new friends!)

confusedofengland · 22/09/2019 08:56

Football match for DH & DS1 this morning 🙄 I'll stay at home with the other Dses & put some clothes away while they play in the playroom (which has been largely out of bounds for the last few weeks while DS1 has been doing lots of 11+ practise).

Homework this afternoon. Also hopefully going to see my parents. Also digging out DS1's bike so he can have a go before Bikeability tomorrow.

Roast chicken for dinner.

BishopFrownofStThigh · 22/09/2019 08:57

It's raining really heavily and grey outside so not an incentive to get out of bed properly, I got a drink and went back.

Getting up to test out new eyeliner soon then brunch probably 11am.

After that sorting out paperwork which fills me with dread. I need a flamingo tree for a spot of sunshine!

Yeahnahyeah1 · 22/09/2019 08:59

Absolutely fuck all! DH has gone to work, can’t remember the last time he had a day off (possibly the day after our wedding in July 😂) so it’s just going to be me and the dog, watching rugby with our feet (paws) up.

Mummyilovejokes1 · 22/09/2019 09:00

Lazy morning for me and dcs whilst dp is at the gym. Swimming and then sorting out old kitchen and boxing everything up ready to move into our new kitchen extension tomorrow once the plumbing has been done, i am beyond excited about this as its been a year in the making. Need to do homework with one dc and lunch box for the other ready for tomorrow.

RoseDog · 22/09/2019 09:01

DD 16 is still in bed, I am on the sofa with a coffee and a snoring dog

Dp and Ds are in Manchester on a football trip.

Our biggest challenge today is to wash the dog...never get a white dog!!

happypotamus · 22/09/2019 09:03

I am drinking tea on the settee in peace right now.
Need to go and wake at least one DC up in a minute.
My sister was supposed to be visiting today, but DC1 was sick last night so she probably won't. DH is to some training for an event he is involved in, then will go to supermarket. I will somehow entertain DC, hope DC1's vomit was just a one off and not a bug that will spread to all of us and try to work out what to about yesterday's emotional breakdown that has led me to believe I can't go back to work and I can't work out if that is rational or not.

sparkly72 · 22/09/2019 09:04

I think it might be time to pack the summer clothes in the loft and get the winter stuff down. This makes me very sad, and along with needing to coax 4 DCs into doing homework/ college work, I'm anticipating needing to cook something gorgeous later, mainly so I can shut myself in the kitchen with Netflix while I cook.....

glotterbug · 22/09/2019 09:05

Busy day yesterday so having a lazy morning. Coffee and mumsnet while both dd are doing playmobile and watching bear grills at same time ?!?

Birthday party later and dh hopefully home from work in time for tea and girls homework. Going to colour my hair today but overall a lazy day.

ArabellaPilkington · 22/09/2019 09:07

Niece and boyfriend stayed over so making them breakfast soon when I CBA to get out of bed

Nag DC to revise/do homework/music practice

Ironing

Make sausage parsnip and blackberry bake for lunch, with roast potatoes and broccoli

Take niece and boyfriend to special event

Not a lot else. I want to veg on sofa and watch Unbelievable on Netflix but that's not going to happen. DD will want to watch Glee and I've got too much crap to sort.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 22/09/2019 09:08

Another admirer of the flamingo tree here. Will it be ok being planted now, going into winter? I’ve managed to kill a tree before doing that, but I also manage to kill plants that are “unkillable”...
All we’ve done so far is have a hot drink while watching the torrential rain from the bedroom window, and my husband made pancakes for the kids.
I have lots of work to do (teacher) but also hoping to go on a car ride with husband and kids on Christmas safari. That’s where we scout out shops that are already putting things out and coo over it all. If we consider the safari a success, we’re allowed one Christmas song each on the drive home. Weird tradition, developed over time, putting it in black and white sure makes it sound weird!
Spicy casserole for tea, expecting it to be rejected by children so also making a plain version. Tut.

ArabellaPilkington · 22/09/2019 09:09

so I can shut myself in the kitchen with Netflix while I cook

Liking this plan, a lot.....Smile

ilovebagpuss · 22/09/2019 09:09

Both DD’s and DH still asleep. I’m contemplating fetching coffee and scrolling In bed. Need to get moving as friend coming in a bit to go a walk behind the house through the woods then cake.
Need to collect some more sloes as popping to Aldi later for food and cheap gin for sloe gin.
School prep later ironing etc. Will prob drag youngest on the walk eldest recovering from sleepover and shopping trip so she’s out of play.

AnnaMariaDreams · 22/09/2019 09:12

DS is at Granny’s. Need to get up and tidy the kitchen - we had friends round for dinner last night.
DH is going to pick up DS. Then a very lazy Sunday, cook a roast and watch a film. Perfect.

whattodo2019 · 22/09/2019 09:13

Still in bed, begging DS to bring me some breakfast in bed...
I have a mountain of washing to do and it's pouring with rain...

Thegracefuloctopus · 22/09/2019 09:13

We moves yesterday! But with a poorly DS who was only discharged from hospital on Friday. It was a hard move I must say! Today dh is going back to the old house to clear a bit and take to the tip, I have DS here and I'm unpacking in between stopping DS pulling my new lamp over

MuseumOfYou · 22/09/2019 09:14

Dropped DS at uni for the first time yesterday and DD at Scout Camp. DDog died 2 months ago so we have a totally empty house for the first time in years. Odd but also quite peaceful.
Place is a tip so am going to start working through that. DH will do a supermarket shop for this afternoon when DM and DF coming over for a lazy roast. DD will be back mid afternoon- and everything will be totally soaking so the washing machine will start.
That's it really.
