I need a new (second hand) car and have a lengthy list of requirements-what would you recommend?

I have 4 totally non negotiable requirements.

It needs to be able to tow at least 1400kg.
Must be diesel
Must be automatic
Must either come with a radio/sat nav which supports Android Auto or can have such a system put in.

As well as that I’d like good mpg, low tax and ideally an estate. I’d prefer not to have a 4x4. Don't really want to spend more than 12k, but could up budget to about 14k.

Looking for something 2-3 years old. Not much more than 30,000 miles.

I went and test drove a Kia Ceed 3 2016 plate today which seemed perfect apart from the entertainment system doesn’t support android auto. Halfords won’t commit as to whether a fancy Kenwood system could be put in, they need to see the car. I can’t take them the car as I don’t own it. Kia say a 2017 onwards version of this car does Android Auto.....but with all my requirements of diesel, auto, estate (think the hatchback version won’t tow 1400kg) I cant find one close enough to me in budget (East Midlands).

So any other cars which might meet my demanding requirements.

Sales bloke couldn’t understand why the inbuilt sat nav wasn’t good enough but I honestly think when you’ve got used to being able to talk to the system....”ok google navigate to the nearest Burger King” then you never want to go back to having to find out a postcode, press the post code in, etc. Grin

Try a Hyundai Tucson. It's not a 4x4 usually (although it can be) but it is a SUV I'm afraid if that's what you mean.

I think it supports android auto from the 2016/7 regs onwards and can come in diesel and automatic.

If that's no good just go on autotrader and put your requirements in with an additional keyword search of 'android'.

Thank you. That's great, hadn't realised you could put " android" into AutoTrader.
