I know it sounds silly, but it threw me a little. To me it's a normal thing to do - if you dont have a washing machine or dryer or you need to clean a duvet or something - you go to a launderette. He said he's never needed to as his parents always had a washer and if it broke they went to family etc. I guess it just highlighted the difference in our upbringing - we didn't get a washer til i was about ten and Saturday mornings were spent in the launderette. I can still smell the humid soapyness even now.

What normal things have you or your DP never done?

Ps when my machine broke I called the nice man at the local appliance shops and he brought me a new one that afternoon for less money than online companies

I've only been in a laundrette because I was a student in the 90's and no house i lived in hac a washing machine. I used to save all my 20ps for the dryer.

Fairly sure my dh has not been to a laundrette.

I have very occasionally when washing machine broke when living abroad.

However, I was very surprised when I went on holiday with dh for the first time, aged 30, and it turned out he'd never ever been in the sea, despite being fairly well travelled

Went to one for the very first time recently when renovating the kitchen & utility room. I had to google where the nearest one was.
The event wasn't much fun and can't say I have any desire to do it again any time soon.
