Last night husbands friend messaged saying husband had attempted suicide and was in hospital. His friend called the police because husband told friend to look out for us.

I told his family and they said they arnt going to visit as he's attention seeking.

I'm going to drop son off with husbands friends wife soon so I can visit husband.

Oh God you poor love!

Did this come out of the blue?

No it didn't come out of the blue he's had depression for a while and he used to take medication. But recently his mh was declining but he said he was fine

It must be so hard. Do you think it was a genuine attempt or - hopefully - a cry for help.

You hear so often about people feeling better and then stopping taking their meds. I suppose it must be very hard to have to rely on meds to control your emotions but it's so frustrating for loved ones to have to look on.

Hugs OP. I hope your husband gets the help he needs and you all get through this. I've had depression and it's such a hard thing to deal with; worse for men I think as there's still that 'stiff upper lip' mentality.

I think it was a genuine attempt.

I have no idea what to tell son where he is as son is only 22 months.
