Halloween in the Lake District

I know Halloween is a bit of a love/hate thing, (particularly on here Grin), but we're going to be up in the Lakes for Halloween and I wonder if anyone there knows of any good Halloween events or areas to go trick or treating. We will be in the South of the Lakes.

Where we live there's usually a lot of activities going on and our village has a fun atmosphere on Halloween night with lots of children trick or treating and lots of decorated houses.

I'm not sure that there is as much going on in the Lakes so any ideas would be welcome. I've promised my kids that I'll try to find some fun Halloween events/activities for them whilst we are up there.

Thanks!

Try Brockhole on Windermere visitor centre , iirc they have Halloween activities on. It’s also a nice place to visit generally, there are lovely views and lots for kids to do.

The National Trust places usually have things going on. It's the week after half term up there so a bit quieter.
Allen Bank at Grasmere did last year.
Also, i think the Beatrix Potter place at Bowness is offering free entry on the Sunday if kids are in fancy dress.
Hayes Garden World at Ambleside has pumpkin carving but you need to book now, it fills up!
Guess where we are at Halloween Grin
