Separated from Twin

I just wondered how many of us are separated from our twins?

I never thought I would ever be estranged from my twin but here I am. I can't be the only one?

Sorry to hear that. Have you been estranged for long? Do you think you may both find a way back to each other? Or maybe this was your choice, and the right thing for you. I hope you have supportive people around you Flowers

Me. Her decision not mine. It breaks my heart.

It was my decision which breaks my heart as I don't think she will ever forgive me.

She has alcohol issues. Our mother was the same and it was awful for us both growing up around that destruction.

It's been two years now and I think about her everyday; many times every day but I just can't live my life with the chaos anymore.

We spoke a lot before I cut contact and I did say that I needed to do it for my own sanity and I don't think she thought I would. We said we'd be there for each other no matter what especially after our mum died and I feel I've let her down.

Sorry I'm rambling. I've got people I can talk to but I don't think anyone understands what it's like always having someone by your side and then not having that someone.

I hope others reply as I am not a twin but I am sorry you are going through this.

Someone here told me about an Allen Carr book to cut alcohol use and although I wasn’t an alcoholic I found it so hard to stop and it helped me immediately. I listened to it on audio and wonder if she’d be willing

Some of us were born with a viper and the time had to come to cut her out. Immediate relief.

So it wasn't all lovely and kind and good- I have been seriously damaged by her. I am not sad.

My friend is a twin and although they were good friends when younger, they barely speak now.

I don't think there's any bad feeling, they're just different people. Don't think either is particularly phased by it as it seems, from the outside at least, to be like a friendship that has drifted.
