I CANNOT figure it out. I'm not daft but the internet links just go in circles. My childminder sent a link which again went in circles

Can you tell me what you did? (I'm not entitled to more than 15 hours but only need 15 anyway)

Thank you!

I'm a childminder. All you have to do in my area is provide a copy of your child's birth certificate to your cm and then s/he can claim for the council. There is a very simple form the cm would get you to fill in staying personal details and which setting you want to claim your hours at.

Your childcare provider should claim it on your behalf, they’ll just need a copy of the child’s birth certificate or passport and there’s a form to say how many hours a week your child does with them. It’s not like the 30 hours where you have to apply and get a code to give them.

Yes I think it’s the provider who claims, not you. It’s very confusing!

Are you in England? Tell your CM you want the 15 hours and she will fill in a form and get you to sign it.

The childminder would normally apply for it on your behalf. the 30 hours needs the parents to apply but as the 15 hours is universal it is done by the provider.

Unless you want 15 hours all year around rather than term time only, then you need to go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk and fill in the 30 hour funding bit as it is more than the 15 hour term time funding.

Thank you so much everyone, that's what I thought but when I asked she said I did it (she's relatively new to the job so maybe no one has asked before?)
