Flying a yellow flag on car

Any idea what this means? My neighbour has this on his car above the driver side door. Plain yellow nothing on it. The only things Google throws up are a yellow school flag (he is not a teacher or has children) or a ship flying it for contagion on board. He is a Plymouth Brethren and I thought they didn't fly flags or get involved with campaigns or politics.

In motor racing it means a hazard or debris on the track. No idea what it means on a car.

Weirdly it looks like the headscarf that his wife wears to church. Not seen her car go past for a few days.

Is it a flag or a yellow ribbon for remembrance? I gather there is a yellow ribbon campaign for ex-brethren missing relatives still in the sect.

Yellow flag also means that a ship is carrying a plague/infectious disease.

Spartacus. Not going to ask him. He won't talk to me what with me being a female and will only talk to the head of the household. DH won't ask. I am the head of the household anyway 😂

@MrsTerryPratchett I did mean straight as in heterosexual but I should of worded it better .
