Hello all,
I am sure this has been asked many times before but my husband and I would really like to find out about what the above subject mentioned areas are like in 2019, as I noticed that a lot of the threads are much older and we wanted some current feedback on these areas please.
My family and I are looking to move up north as we have always lived down south specifically in Bath, Essex, London and Kent. Why Northeast, well because that's where my mum is from Hebburn to be precise. However, she hasn't lived there for nearly 50 years so she can't really give me any pointers in terms of what the areas are like now.
I know people always talk about Jesmond, Gosforth, Tynemouth, Whitley Bay, etc and I can totally understand why but we wanted something closer to the countryside, yet very easy to get into Newcastle city and not too difficult to get to Durham should the need arise.
We would really appreciate your thoughts on the these areas in terms of housing, schooling, doctors, shops, cafes/pubs/restaurants, lifestyle (gym, swimming pool) and the general safety of these area and anything else you can tell us. Do you think it is a good area to bring up our two daughters who are 9 and and 5 years old, as well as places to take our very active young dog out for walks.
Thanks in advance.
