I kn ow it`s to early but this was talked about yesterday when I met with group of girlfriends whom meet jup every 8 weeks or so. These ladies are in early sixties and we have a limit of £10. Last year I gave a bottle of prosecco and chocolates but sensed an impression that others opinion was than it was not very thoughtful. So wise mumsnetters what would you like to receive for £10?

Well for it to be 'thoughtful' it somehow needs to be matched to the recipient, so no-one can say, but I'd much rather have a bottle of prosecco and some chocolates than most other things at that price point as the chances of someone guessing what I'd like is rather low.

A book voucher please

notso · 19/09/2019 13:48

Is it strictly £10 or can you go a bit over, under?

Personally I'd love
Nesti Dante soap but would probably either be very under budget or two bars slightly over budget.
Gloves,
Warm socks for walking boots,
A book,
Coffee shop voucher,
A tub of hotel chocolate amaretto sultanas

Obviously these are all to my taste though rather than generic items

Hotel chocolat do a variety of booze soaked chocolate covered dried fruit. I'd go for the rum soaked sultanas myself, those are amazing.

As they're £9 if you want to be spot on with the £10 price, you could look for something random, fun or appropriate from the pound shop to go with it.

I'm not sure a book is a good choice as you'd rarely know which books they have already read, they might prefer to use a kindle, the library or browse in charity shops.

Id be more than happy with chocolates and prosecco.

When i got a SS at work i knew instantly what to buy.

10 bottles of Zoflora.

She bloody loves the stuff!

Unsure if its of any use to you though 🤔
