Any quick way to pick up conversational Italian?

In about a years time I will be meeting some extended family I've never met before. A couple of members only speak Italian.

Any way of learning enough to have a basic chat without proper classes or signing up to online providers?

I just want to be able to say and understand enough to show I am trying.

Duolingo isn't bad for vocab and phrases. FutureLearn offer free basic language courses online and podcasts are excellent- you can usually find low level ones and it's amazing how much you retain without realising it
