Help with breast pump

Hi
I am really hoping someone has had the same experience as me and can help.
I have been successfully exclusively expressing for my daughter for the l last 10 months and was really hoping to get her through the next 2 months until we go straight onto cows milk. I have a Medela Swing pump and bar the odd hiccup its gone really well. Until this week. I dont think i am doing anything different but suddenly the tubing is filling up with milk every time I express. This has happened in the past when the bottle is full but it is now happening when its only half full. This morning a normal 25 minute express took over an hour as I had to rinse the tubing 4 times,
I am so deflated
I thought maybe my pumps were giving up the ghost so I bought another newer pump from someone who had barely used it via ebay. I tried the new pump, membrane and tubing etc hoping for good results and the same thing happened almost instantly.
Can anyone help. I am making sure the tubes are dry and the membrane is all ok. I dont think i've changed anything and thats whats so frustration. This morning I was in tears as this isn't realistic to continue this way.
Any ideas would be amazing as im so disappointed

Thank you

Is your supply good still Hun ? X

It's an issue with the Medela unfortunately. They're known for it. Once it happens you shouldn't use the pump again as the milk gets in to the motor and causes mould.

Buy a Bella baby from Amazon, about £40 so not too much.

Thanks KellyW1989. yes my supply seems fine although is dropping now as I am managing to express less and less. i was at a stage where I was exclusively expressing for my LO and donating to special care. Sadly the donations have had to stop since the issue with the pump.
I am concerned if I keep going on with it the supply will just dry up. Currenrlt not enough for my daughters bedtime feed to night ):

Fluffsmum - thanks. I had wondered that but I just got a newer one from ebay this week and the exact problem started almost as soon as I used it. I was trying to avoid buying much more as only planned to continue until she can go onto cows milk.

I assume it must be soemthign i am doing differently or wrong but dont k now what has changed as its been forne since December.

That's what I mean it's a fault with Medela (particularly the swing), some do it from new, others take a while. I guess some never do it but I've not heard of that. I suspect that the one you bought was being sold because it did it!
