DS still really sad at drop off

My son is still really upset on going into school. His teacher says he's fine in class but was so close to tears this AM that a teacher had to take him off and take him to class. He didnt want to go in alone.

I dont know what to do. This isn't like him. And I get that the step up to Y1 is a big one but it breaks my heart to think of him as so upset. He tells me he will miss me and he loves me and then wont go without several kisses, cuddles and coaxes from me.

Oh dear no real advice as you seem to have done what you can re speaking to teacher. I would be guided by them and if he's saying all good with friends etc then not much else you can do. Have there been any other changes at home or elsewhere that may be worrying him ?

Hopefully it's just settling in with new teacher ( does he like them?) and it will sort itself out with time. I can imagine it's very hard for you but the main thing is that he is fine during the day.
