ML, flexible working and new role

I'm very fortunate that I ended up in a company where all my skills can be used and make them grow. I know this, they know it. I started with an entry level job and then fell pregnant. They've never had any pregnant employees and this has benefited me.

I had a chat with the owner about my ML. O told him I'd be off for 9 months but was happy to stay in touch via email with short queries and if anything came up that needed my full attention I still and 10 days within those 9 months to do so. I also said that in an ideal world is like to work 15 hours pw from home for the last three months.

We then talked about coming back from ML to a completely different role that would be mostly custom made for me.

A couple of days later he came back to tell me that I could do whatever I wanted (come back FT/PT or not at all) and that the WFH had to be talked a bit more with his business partner but that there was *a possibility of it for sure".

Am I wrong to think that it's very likely they'll let me work from home?

Most importantly how would you create that new role? I'm thinking of writing a proper proposal, there's obviously enough time left but I think I feel like I need to do this properly..
