Sporners or a doctor?!

I have what feels like a rock hard swollen lymph node in my groin.

I noticed it this morning when I woke up as my groin/thigh was throbbing. It’s got bigger and bigger throughout the day. It’s the size of a large marble now. Not sure if you can see on the pic or not!

I don’t feel poorly just very very achey around that area and it’s agony if knocked.

WTF is it?! Do lymph nodes act like this normally?

I’d vote for doctor to get that checked out!

To the doc

Maybe a boil but best get it checked out by a doc

flumpybear · 17/09/2019 05:23

Go to the docs for reassurance

Sunshinelollipops1 · 17/09/2019 05:23

Another vote for doctor

Rapidmama · 17/09/2019 06:43

Def not a boil, the area below is now swollen too 😩

I'd go to the dr.

NotQuiteUsual · 17/09/2019 06:45

I'm a hardcore sporner, but even I'd be at the GP with that.

Rapidmama · 17/09/2019 06:51

1st available GP appt is 2nd August Hmm

I’ve booked it and hopefully and more than likely it will have resolved by then and I can cancel

@NotQuiteUsual not going to lie, I’ve been fantasising about how amazing it will be if it is something other than a lymph node. Think it probably is though

Keep a really close eye on it - I had something similar recently and it turned out it was an abscess that turned into cellulitis. Watch for redness and tracking.

Rapidmama · 17/09/2019 09:51

An abscess on a lymph node? Or on its own?

OP posts:
poppym12 · 17/09/2019 15:02

August?!!

Breathlessness · 17/09/2019 15:06

Do touch it but you can try having a few hot baths. If it’s going to resolve itself that should do it.

BlythesEyes · 17/09/2019 17:39

Go to a walk in centre if you can't get in docs....it needs looking at asap. (Also I have that bed linen...good choice) Smile

ToothlessIsMySpiritAnimal · 17/09/2019 18:31

It was an abscess on it's own I believe, due to an ingrown hair. Took ages for me to feel normal again afterwards, felt ghastly. Luckily I caught it quickly and so only needed antibiotics but it started to track very quickly so time is of the essence if you feel unwell and if the area is hot to the touch and red.

Hopefully it won't happen but always good to be extra vigilant (particularly in intimate areas because it really is awkward to sit down Grin)

Bartholin cyst? You should go see your GP.
