Only been taking them a couple of days but feel shocking. On and off headache, dry mouth, palpitations, shakes, nausea, feeling really spaced out. Are they meant to make you feel this way?!

They can make you feel like shit! What dose are you on?

NCBabyBoy · 16/09/2019 22:58

Had steroid injections to mature DS's lungs when I was pregnant. Remember feeling wired, being flushed, not sleeping and peeing an awful lot. Not sure what's normal though.

Gilead a really tiny .1mg. They're also making me have really vivid dreams. Feel worse than I did before I started taking them Sad

Justoneday go back and ask for budesonide instead, it has fewer side effects.

Gilead · 17/09/2019 19:28

Prednisalone can cause some quite serious problems with some people and if you're reacting this badly to 1mg. then I really think you need to get it changed, I don't have these problems at 80mg! I do however have a lack of concentration, become hyperactive and suffer with insomnia as well as serious weight gain, these are the norm for most. What you are experiencing can also happen but they are rarer effects.
Hope you feel better soon.

It's fludrocortisone, prescribed for PoTS but it's making me feel really out of it! I don't know if I can get something else prescribed as it was the cardiologist who suggested these

I have steroid injections a few times a year for rheumatoid arthritis. They make me feel fluey, flushed and spacey for a few days then after a few weeks I usually feel nauseated and tired. They work a treat for my arthritis though!

housemdwaswrong · 17/09/2019 22:34

No idea with that. Doesn't happen for me with prednisolone, but they appear to be quite different from a quick google.

What does the leaflet say are common side effects?

Telephone call to gp tomorrow maybe? Sorry you're feeling so rough x

BenWillbondsPants · 17/09/2019 22:43

They kept me awake and made me starving.
