Hi just wanted to ask if anyone else has had the same issues in regards to the copper coil. After a previous post about constant bleeding for 6 weeks following the copper coil insertion, 2 weeks later the bleeding stopped for 1 week and then went back to the constant bleeding on and off heavy light bleeding it’s been 4 weeks now since then and over 3 months since I had it fitted and I am extremely aneamic have been prescribed iron tablets but have seriously given up on keeping coil in I’m just worried now Incase something else is wrong with me that’s causing the bleeding I’ve been referred to gaenecology dep to see what’s going on Sad feel really nervous has anyone else been like this with copper coil it’s been just over 3 months since it’s been inserted. Really want to see if anyone has had the same experience as me and is it best to get it removed?

Yes! Me! Almost constant bleeding since I had it fitted at the end of June. Nothing stops the bleeding for more than a few days. I've had tranexamic acid, noristerone, and now I'm on the pill as well as having the coil. Still bleeding! I've got an ultrasound tomorrow but the Dr says the coil is where it's meant to be so the ultrasound is just to double check. I'm booked in to have it removed on Friday. I'm fed up with it now frankly.

MushroomTree Honestly Feel exactly the same nothing seems to stop the abnormal bleeding. I had it fitted at the beginning of June so it’s just exhausting now I am making an appointment tomorrow to get it removed hopefully it won’t take long for me to get into a normal menstrual routine I just want to feel normal again Sad X thank you for making me not feel like I’m the only one 😆

@Aaminah787 I know exactly what you mean. It's just not normal to bleed for that long. Plus I have a lovely new boyfriend who I can't have sex with because I don't stop bleeding for long enough! Roll on next week Grin

Old thread but I’m seeking some answers, too. I had the coil put in which seemed fine at the start but since October 6 I’ve been bleeding and on 13 October I got a heavy abnormal bleed. October 18 I was prescribed tranexamic acid for a week alongside norethisterone for 21 days which worked but as soon as I stopped taking the tranexamic acid the bleeding resumed a few days later. Not as heavy but it is there. Got a scan on Monday and taking the coil out on Wednesday. What were your experiences? Like you I’m so scared something is wrong
