Is it a whitlow? You probably need antibiotics

mrsjackrussell · 15/09/2019 14:38

Nurse here. Yes it does look infected.

Bloomburger · 15/09/2019 14:43

Get some hydrogen peroxide solution from supermarket chemist, dilute and soak your thumb in it.

If there is a scan knock it off first.

The bacteria will oxidise causing wound to fizz.

Do every day and you should be fine.

Scab not scan

Yes. You can try hot compresses but you are probably going to need antibiotic ointment at a minimum. Maybe see what a pharmacist says

hocuspocusbitch · 15/09/2019 14:49

Yes, I think it is a whitclow. It's really sore. Should I go to chemist and see what they recommend?

Get some magnesium sulphate, put it on a plaster and stick it on. It'll draw the infection out.

Yes. I use magnesium sulphate a lot, it's great stuff. Stings a bit but that's just it working its magic.

If that doesn't work, see a pharmacist/doctor

I went to chemist and that's exactly what she recommended!! It freaking stings though! By god it stings
