What does your 10yr old son’s bedroom look like?

I’m trying to sort out ds’s room. There are quite a few toys in there that he just doesn’t play with anymore.... animals, avengers, nerf guns. Actually he does occasionally play with the nerf guns when his friends are here.

The things he does have which are used are books, writing stuff, lego and board games. He also has a switch which seems to have taken over his life 🙄 He doesn’t have a telly in his room so often plays it in the lounge, or just in tablet mode.

I’m just wondering what your 10yr old plays with? Do they still have ‘toys’?

Hi OP! I just asked this question yesterday! If you search under my name you'll see the thread.

In short- occasionally Lego, or knights/castle, playing outside with friends, bike, footie in back garden. Reading.

And counting down the hours till it's tech time again!

Actually hex bugs were popular last Xmas- must buy new batteries for them!

Mine has lots of lego and small figures, he's just got into Fortnite, so bought some Fortnite toys the other day. He has various Zelda weapons and Nerf guns but doesnt use them much. He has a massive bookshelf that is overflowing and probably spends more time reading than anything else. He also has approximately 1 million cuddly toys on his bed 😬

Oh and a little robot that responds to movement and sound was a big hit for his birthday this year!

Thanks @gerbo I’ll have a search.

Haha @Ftumch there’s an aray of soft toys on ds’s bed too! 🤣

Christmas presents is something I haven’t even thought of!

My 10yo ds loves history, geography and maps. We found some old shipping maps in an antique shop for £1 and stapled it to his wall. He loves it! Also masses of books and soft toys. He's also got a shallow small shelf thing to display all his mini figures, fossils etc. Things like Lego live downstairs as all my dcs love it.

The maps sound hood @Tidypidy I love maps!! 😀
Never thought of having lego as a communal toy. All toys live in dc’s bedrooms, both have selection of lego each, I might just throw it all together!!
My son has a shelf for his lego creations but he rarely plays with it anymore.

Sadly toys aren't in much favour here either Sad

The Lego seems to just get built but not played with. Loads of books but he only reads them once or so. He kicks a little ball around despite my protests. His latest birthday money purchase was an off road remote control truck but that seemed to be a one minute wonder hasn't been out recently. He has a couple of guitars which he will play if encouraged.
