2 hours at home alone - what should I do?!

I have very unexpectedly found myself home alone which almost never happens.

DC1 had an event to go to, so I took her and DH took DC2 and 3 to his sister's house for the day.

DC1 got invited to a sleep over last minute and DH isn't due back with the other 2 till about 8pm.

So I've got the house to myself. I've had a leisurely shower and dried my hair but I'm now paralysed by indecision.

What would you do with 2 hours in the house by yourself??

I would crochet while listening to an audio book, drinking wine tea.

ecuse · 14/09/2019 17:56

Read and drink tea. Or gin.

Put the kettle on and do bugger all. Sounds lovely.

Cup of tea, favourite biscuits & 2 episodes of something on Netflix

2 hours is perfect for a film and wine

BertieBotts · 14/09/2019 18:08

TV or sleep

bigchris · 14/09/2019 18:08

Paint nails?

Will they be expecting dinner when they get back though, should you be cooking?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 14/09/2019 18:08

Sit in silence on the sofa and enjoy the peace for about 20 mins. Find a film and get a pizza delivered.

Envy < envy

RNBrie · 14/09/2019 18:11

DH will need dinner but that will take about 20 mins...

Have made a cup of tea and on the sofa stroking the cat. Trying to work out if it's with popping out for biscuits. Nearest shop is a 4 min walk...

Probably lie in bed and chill, either read or watch TV. Have a lesuirely bath. Wee in peace. Get a really nice snack or something to eat that I don't want to share lol

Toodlehoooo · 14/09/2019 18:12

I had two hours today so I changed the beds and hung out the laundry, hoovered and then made lunch and sat down and watch friends 💕

TheOnlySnot · 14/09/2019 18:18

Have a poo. I haven’t had a decent poo on my own for 8 years. What I wouldn’t give to have a shit in peace. Have a poo on your own. You deserve it.

RNBrie · 14/09/2019 18:21

I definitely don't want to do any house work. I did a ton this morning... I keep looking at the clock and thinking "argh... 5 more minutes have gone!"

Its such a rare treat, and the time is going too fast! Grin

Get off mumsnet!!!!

KatherineJaneway · 14/09/2019 18:29

Grab some wine and watch Bosch

Alabasterangel6 · 14/09/2019 18:30

Walk around the house listening to the silence and relishing the prospect that anything you put down will be where you left it and any room you vacated will stay in the same state when you return!

VictoriaBun · 14/09/2019 18:33

Surely you'd go to that shop and buy a big bar of chocolate , come home and sit and enjoy with it in full view of the whole room . Instead of sneaking out to the kitchen to have a little piece , on the quiet

gemdrop84 · 14/09/2019 18:45

Make a cup of tea, have something nice to eat that no one else eats, crochet whilst listening to a podcast or watching TV. Or buy a new book on my kindle and read.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/09/2019 20:20

I would get myself in front of a full length mirror and try on my favourite clothes, and ALL my shoes. Not sure two hours would be enough...Blush

EttyG · 14/09/2019 20:43

Am I the only one wondering why you need to cook DH his tea? Isn't he old enough to do it himself? Confused

RNBrie · 14/09/2019 21:59

@EttyG we cooked together and ate together. He does 90% of the cooking!

In the end I watched 2 episodes of The Good Fight, drank 3 cups of tea and brushed the cat. Was lovely Smile
