I usually use monthlies but this time I've decided to try dailies. I order a trial pack online so only have 5 pairs. I am going out tonight so want to wear them then but was wondering if I can try out a pair just now to make sure my eyes take to them ok and then put them back in later tonight? As I only have 5 pairs I don't want to waste a pair trying them out but also don't want to wait until I am about to go out to see if they are ok. I plan on taking a nap later when the children are away so can't keep them in all day either Grin.

You probably shouldn’t but if you keep the packet and put them back in the solution they come in then it may be ok. Not if you’re going to leave them out of the solution though.

Don't take them out and put them back on again - I've tried this and it always feels a bit greasy! I have had dailies for many years now, and had all the other kinds on my youth! Originally the ones you'd have for a year (always cleaning them), then gas permeable (ouch), then monthlies (lots of cleaning). Dailies I find very comfortable as they are really thin. I would suggest trying them on a day when you're not going to nap and not going our in the evening. That way you'll get a good few hours and can take them out if uncomfortable but also get a feel for them. Hope you like them - I love not having to clean them and the fact that if I drop one or tear one when putting in/taking out, which is very rare, it's not a disaster.

I wouldn't unless you can pop them in a sterile holder with saline. To be honest, I probably just wouldn't do this either but I may be a bit over scrupulous with my eyes.

Thanks all I knew it was probably a bad idea but thought I'd double check first just in case it would be ok. I hate wasting stuff even though it didn't cost much for the trial pack Grin.

Shirtyllama I actually meant to do it yesterday when they arrived and forgot! I am going to put a pair in this morning for a couple of hours then take them out and put a new pair in tonight to be safe.

I can't be bothered with the cleaning that comes with monthlies and I don't wear them every day so hoping I get on well with the dailies.

Hard nope. You can do that with monthlies because you can clean them but daylies are often too delicate to be clean.

I use daylies as also can't be bothered to clean them and I only wear them for the gym. Do much more convenient and cheaper if you don't wear them every day.

sproutsandparsnips · 14/09/2019 11:41

I'd just put them in and leave them in till your night out. I could never go back to monthlies - I had so many problems with them - I've never had a day's trouble with dailies!

You probably shouldn’t

Dear Jesus.

You should absolutely NOT do this.
