Barbour Coat Smell

Has anyone had any success getting rid of the smell that can develop on these coats - it seems to come if they are unworn and kept somewhere cold for a while?
I’ve turned it inside out and sprayed it with Febreze, and hung it on the line for a night with some improvement but I’d still be a bit self conscious wearing it in an enclosed space......

Which ones? If it's the wax, they will smell?

MrsMaryMooFace Yes, it’s a wax one. I’ve had them before - worn regularly and kept aired, this smell hasn’t developed.
It’s a particular sharp smell - you’d know if you’d had it.

My parents had those wax Barbour macs and I couldn't stand the smell of them as a kid! From memory, the smell never did go away but maybe it's just ingrained in my memory!
