A friend of a friend is travelling over for an extended holiday from Canada.

There asked me for favourite places to go in England and Scotland (already have info for Northern Ireland).

I have some ideas, but would love any hidden gems anyone could add.

Thank you in advance.

Also go to Cornwall but skip Devon

I take it you’ve got the obvious things like Stonehenge (although Avebury is free, more accessible and much quieter), Stratford for Shakespeare, Cotswolds for ye olde English, Windsor and London.
Otherwise Blackpool as a..er..unique seaside town (hope I don’t offend anyone, I actually quite like it but to some people it’s an acquired taste). Or maybe Brighton instead.
Somewhere like Chatsworth or similar stately home.
Plymouth for the Mayflower link.
Tintagel maybe for the King Arthur legends and spectacular scenery.
