Do I need to take dd to the docs?

Dd Is seven and slipped at school on Monday and landed on her back. She had first aid, no concerns, and just said her chest had felt a bit tight so they (and we) think she winded herself.

She is still saying off and on that her chest hurts (when running or being active), but isn't in pain all the time.

Do I get a second opinion or does it just take a while for the aches to pass?

Take her to the Doc, you have nothing to lose by doing so and better save than sorry (not implying anything is wrong) . It will also give you peace of mind.

She very likely pulled some muscles when she fell and that's what the pain now is. But I agree, you don't lose anything by checking her out and stand to gain everything. Take her to the doc and get your peace of mind :)

I agree, take her. I remember falling off monkey bars onto a beam and winding myself. I had bad pain for around a week and mild pain for over a month afterwards. I wish my parents had taken my pain and discomfort more seriously.

Hope your DD feels better soon.

Erm that should have said safe!!! Not save!!

Yup, docs. Better to be safe than sorry. She may have cracked a rib or pulled a muscle. Nothing can be done for either except paracetamol, I don’t even think they strapup ribs nowadays, but at least you will know.
Hope she’s better soon.

Thanks, I'll take her. I'm working today so will see if I can get her in tomorrow morning.

yep go drs- winded myself a lot as a kid (seemed to fall down the stairs a lot)- the ache never dragged on for days.

Good luck
