Bird trapped in house

There's a small bird trapped in our hallway.

We have a large skylight which won't open more than a couple of cm (possibly how it snuck in?). It won't leave this room to get to an open window because it thinks this window is how to get out. It's pooing berries over my floor! And we are going to be late for school.

Husband contained it in a bucket but couldn't get a towel over it with out it escaping. We need a net or something (don't have one - can you buy one on the high St?)

What do we do?

In the hallway? Leave the front door open.

Can't you put the bucket over it, then put something under the bucket (thick card, thin wood, chopping board?!) then lift it and take it outside?

Leave the front door open , also cover the skylight if you can

No suggestions but that’s my cats’ dream scenario! Good luck
