Hospital nightie

I have a nightie with a matching robe that I never wear as I class it as my ' hospital ' nightie.
It stays neatly folded in my drawer. I take it out now and again to wash it and it's matching robe before returning it neatly folded to the drawer.
My husband thinks I'm bonkers as the last time I was in hospital was back in 1992 when our youngest was born.
Maybe he's right, but I like to think if I'm ever admitted to hospital, at least I will have a decent nightie on.
I also keep a pair of new slippers with it, though to be fair I do use them and replace them with another pair when I do.
My sister has a ' hotel ' nightie which she keeps for holidays and weekends away etc.
Does anyone else have a hospital/hotel nightie or is my husband right and I'm bonkers? 🤔

I've not been in at all this year, last year was 5 times, but it can happen whenever.
I have brittle asthma so I need to be prepared.
I don't have a fancy nightie!
Dd was in three times in three months, as she has inherited my lungs, no nightie for her either!

I never wear anything in bed at home. When you are admitted to hospital they do put you in a hospital gown, but if you're in overnight and not comatose then you do really want something to wear so as not to frighten the visitors.
I was recently in hospital for planned surgery. I wore my nice hospital pyjamas and every member of staff (ok not the doctors) commented how nice they were.

Depends where you live. I have a friend who was admitted to hospital in an emergency in Russia, and they took all her clothes off her and left her in bed naked - no gown or anything. She didn't possess any nightwear either so she had to get a friend to go out and buy her one to bring in. I bet she wished she had a hospital nightie!

Blimey @FatherFintanFay if they left me naked on a hospital bed, the staff would be seeking counselling for their trauma 😄
Sorry you've spent so much time In hospital @WalnutWhipster and IHaveBrilloHair. Hope you're both better now.

P.s. I would have lent you my hospital nightie / robe if I'd known, it's a British Home Stores one 🙂 ( that's how long I've had it )

I have a beautiful silk robe and nightie that I keep for "best". This thread has inspired me to get it out and use it sometimes.

Have a nice soak in the bath and then wear it @GeebolsMySpiritAnimal.
Make a cup of tea in a cup and saucer and pretend that your posh 😁

Having been admitted suddenly to hospital previously and staying for ten days and relying on family to bring things in for me to wear, I now have a hospital bag packed in case it happens again!

It’s depressing being in hospital so if I can at least look half decent then my mood will be lifted a little.

I have pyjamas that I tend to wear if I'm staying at someone's house - they're not naice as such, but I know they're in good condition i.e. arnt see through, no holes in them...

Are you Irish? That's what my mum says

It's my birthday this weekend - now I know how I'm celebrating it! Grin

I keep an airline bag of toiletries and clean jammies ready for the hospital dash .
Since last November I have had two ambulance rides with admissions and two planned operations .
An “oh fuck !” bag is always ready to grab .
