How to get in?

So my dimwit OH has driven two hours to do some work on a house we own. He's left the key at home Hmm.

Without calling out a locksmith anyone know a way to get in without breaking the door down. No windows open, no spare key. Aargh

This is mumsnet not burglarnet Wink. Unless I'm corrected you'll need a locksmith.

Haha, I did ask him if he knew any burglars. Bloody hell. I'm going to end up driving halfway to meet him aren't I Angry

Send the key by courier?

He's attempting to remove the glass from the patio door. I can see a dozen ways this can go horribly wrong Confused

I could break into my parents house via the cat flat using a hockey stick. Worth a try! Smile

Think you might need to up your security at that house then if he got in so easily.

I think you can get into most houses by damaging them in some way. Burglars like easy access though, damage creates attention and takes time. A friend and I got into her house by taking the back door off it’s hinges when we were teenagers. 😬

I know snozzle. Makes me wonder just how easy it must be to get in many houses as that door seemed solid to me. Until now!

Anything with glass in/on you can easily break into, by either smashing it or removing the window. You'd be surprised how easy it is to take window out of double glazing.
Don't let it worry you, most burglars are opportunistic.
