Can insect bites "come back"

Got bitten 3weeks ago on my face. I got some anthisan cream form a pharmacist and although it was really red and swollen for a few days it had almost gone by last weekend. But now it seems to be getting redder againConfused. Has anyone else had this? I don't know whether I should go to the GP with it, and can't get an appointment till next week anyway.

Yes. Mosquitos/midges don’t bite me but a couple of years ago I got bitten in the UK by a ginormous hornet. It hurt at the time but was fine the next day just a red mark.

Two weeks later the red mark was still there and it flared up and was actually rather painful, more than when I originally got bitten. I googled at the time and found this to be a common occurrence.

And did it just go away again @Soola ? It's on the end of my nose cries I've had enough now.

Catmar - I'ev had this recently. Got bitten on my foot. Itchy as hell for an annoyingly long time then finally started to fade away and feel better. Suddenly, two weeks later, it's itchy and red again. But only for about a day then disappeared. Totally weird and was a bit worrying. But it seems to have gone now.

I get this with mozzie bites. Particularly if I am bitten again - even weeks later, and in a different place - it causes the original bite to flare up.

It took ages to go away and then mark on my knee was red for ages.

A few times in the night I had subconsciously scratched the he’ll out of it and I was worried I would be left with a scar.

When it had stopped itching and was just a scar/mark I used Bio-oil dry skin gel (not the oil) and used it religiously and it did fade and has now completely disappeared.

DH had this recently with a wasp bite. It came back after a few days about twice the size and lasted a good week more. You have my sympathy. Insect bites in general seem to be getting worse.

Oh it's not sounding good 😭😭😭 might get some of the bio oil stuff @Soola, thanks for the tip.
