It normally depends on the leaders and what the group want to do.

How old is she? Scouts is 10.5 to 14, brownies is 7 to 10. Or do you mean Cubs (8- 10.5).

It really depends on the individual units, the leaders and how much support they get from parents. This will determine what sort of activities any unit such as these can do.

Also, depending on your DD, check the proportion of girls to boys in the Scout unit. My DSs Scouts only had 2 girls. Of course that may not worry your DD.

She could do both for a bit and see which she prefers?

It depends completely on the leaders. Cubs are (roughly) the same age as Brownies. Both can do everything under the sun but you need to have leaders who find it interesting.

Well you need to have some leaders actually that's hard enough sometimes.

Also lots of children do both, especially younger ones.

oops sorry I mean cubs! I didn't realise they could do both! I think we will try cubs as have heard lots about them but not so much about brownies.

thank you for your reply.

oops I meant cubs! they seem to have a mixture of girls and boys in the cubs but my dd doesnt seem to mind how many girls/boys there are, shes quite easy going.

thank you for your reply :)
