Tag watch

I have a beautiful tag watch.

It was a present from my exh and I don't wear it for that reason.

It has a mother of Pearl face and diamonds around the face inside where the numbers should be.

I'd only be keeping it to give to my daughter. I'd never wear it myself.

If I keep it is it likely to hold its value for her should I just sell it now and bank the money for her?

Do they stay in fashion? Is it something that would still be wearable in 20 years?

I know next to nothing about watches.

Should I get the battery changed with tag or an independent jeweller?

Tia

I’m not sure Tags hold their value as much but get some quotes from dealers.
If you do decide to keep it then have Tag change the battery (about £70) as it won’t have much value at all if done by a jeweller and it won’t be waterproof.

Thank you great advice about the battery.

I've had a few quotes from online. Seems very low. It originally cost £2200. Quotes are around the £500 mark. I was hoping for £1000 but like I said I know nothing about watches!

I think I will just get the battery changed and keep it for my daughter when she is older.

It it a battery operated watch though OP? I have a Tag Carrera Automatic with the mother of pearl face, diamond bevel and diamonds replacing the numbers. As it's automatic, it doesn't need a battery - have a look just above the '6' and see what it says.
