Mattress in a box - Ebay?

Countrylifeornot · 09/09/2019 21:38

I'm very probably going to buy a Simba or Emma mattress in a box, they are about £600 direct from manufacturer, or around half this new from Ebay.
The reviews look legitimate and fine, but I have no idea why they'd be so much cheaper brand new.
Has anyone any experience they'd be happy to share, I'm always sceptical if something seems too good to be true!

I bought a Emma Mattress about 6 months ago. If you sign up for their emails, they send mails every other day offering 40% off. I absolutely love mine.

Thanks so much, have just signed up. Would much prefer to buy from the company directly, especially with 40% off Smile

I have a simba mattress. Absolutely awful. Very uncomfortable, not dips horribly on one side after only 5 months of use.

I got an Emma recently, the website itself had a 35% discount code. It's very good so far, but FML was it heavy to get upstairs!!!

OneLuckyLady · 09/09/2019 23:16

Heavy yes, but at least it's rolled up in a box. You should have seen the state of the 2 delivery guys trying to get my old super king extra deep mattress out of my bedroom and downstairs. Thought I was going to have to resuscitate one of them 😂

StayInYourLaneBoy · 09/09/2019 23:36

You can get them cheap on groupon or wowcher... one of those kind of sites. They're very slightly used, as in ones people have returned during the try it free period, then re-covered, so like used, but new fabric so it's as good as new

OneLuckyLady · 10/09/2019 07:36

That's right. Only problem with getting one from Wowcher etc is there's no guarantee or 100 night trial.

I’ve got a simba. I’ve had it 2 years and is so comfy! Both of us are around 13 stone and have not had any sagging like pp said.

Emma also had a very good Black Friday deal either last year or the year before, if you're not in a rush.

I was annoyed because I'd paid full price minus the ubiquitous £100 discount code for a Leesa a few weeks before.

I compared all the prices and the offers from Bruno, Leesa, Emma etc etc and they all came in at around £600 for an Ikea king size one, but I think the BF price was around £400 so a good saving.

Ours is very comfortable with no signs of sagging. I love it and the only downside is no handles which makes putting the sheets on difficult on our bed frame as you have to lift the mattress and the bedside table gets in the way.

I have an eve bought from eBay 🙂 king size was £199. We had the hybrid. Absolutely love it. I bought the eve pillows too and I never want to get out of bed 😁
