Help, I've been eaten alive by something!

Ok, somewhat dramatic.

Went to a party in someone's garden yesterday. I wasn't the only person who was fed well apparently. At current count there are 18 bites over my legs. I'm not reacting to them well - they're large, red even more so, sore and itchy as hell and hot.

Anthisan, Hydrocortisone and anti-histamine cream haven't touched them at all. They're my go to for the odd time I get bites. This is new territory for me.

Anyone suffer like this and have any advice?

Have you taken antihistamine tablets?
Someone once told me that pressing a hot spoon against the bite help (not hot enough to burn you, obviously!). I’ve not tried that though....

Ah yes, should have mentioned the antihistamine I've taken already too (forgot as I take one everyday still anyway!)

If I get desperate enough I may try the spoon.

I think the more you get the worse you react to them?

I had similar once and was recommended by a pharmacist to go to GP and get antibiotics (they got quite infected. Of course I didn’t - I just styled it out......

Midgie bites? My ex reacted like that to them also. Germolene and antihistamine/paracetamol.

Just tried to post an update but my internet is playing up.

Long story short, it progressively got worse over the day and I ended up seeing an ooh gp who is hoping it's just that I've become highly reactive to whatever is biting me, but I've got a list of other things to look out for just in case. Two doses of very high strength anti histamine and I'm a lot better and now have legs that are legs shaped mainly again. Looks like I'm going to have to learn about bug repellent ready for next summer.

Thank you for advising everyone, plus massive sympathy to those who suffer like this.

I react very badly to mosquito bites, and when in Spain the pharmacist gave me an antibiotic cream which helped.

Here I normally use Germolene as the anaesthetic stops the itch, I have also used Eurax cream.

I also take antihistamines
