been watching celebrity master chef and can't work him out. (liked him, he seems nice)

He's playing up to being very ignorant, isn't he?

I'd never seen him before Celeb MasterChef (wrong way around, I know!). He seems quite capable, just playing a role.

I love Joey, yes he's a bit full on but his past, growing up makes me feel very maternal towards him.

No one can be that thick. I once saw him insist that Canada was just part of America to a Canadian woman. I'm sure he only does it to annoy.

I don't know much about him, but he seems very likeable.
Just really wondered if the being thick was an act, cos he seemed ok at cooking.

He's always seemed a genuinely lovely person in anything I've seen him in. Sure he exaggerates some of the stupidness though

He's not as daft as he tries to make out. I think he knows exactly what he's doing or saying. This is the guy who had never been on skis before but won The Jump over celebrities and sportsmen/women. He makes a very good living out of being thick!!!!

Agree with AuntieVera, he’s probably not the sharpest tool in the box but he plays it up for the cameras

He's uneducated but not thick.

His mum died when he was little, he didn't benefit from a good education but that doesn't equal thick.

He's doing what he can to get by.

I used to get annoyed that he was basically famous/successful for being ignorant. I'm not sure if it is an act - surely someone can't be that thick.

However I've watched him in a few things and he's actually seems really nice and respectful to others and quite a nice person.

I think (from a previous thread on here) that he has learning difficulties (dyslexia) and didn't do very well at school, especially after his mum killed herself.

I think he's great. I enjoy watching him, he's respectful to other people and very entertaining. Good luck to him; no amount of personal fortune will make up for what happened with his mum.

I also feel very maternal towards him. He just seems like a lovely, sweet lad, regardless of whether he’s playing up to the cameras or not.
