New quiz!!!

I think explains a lot (to me) about some introvert MN threads.

This is my graph at end, I'm a thinker, is all. Not anxious etc.

How introverted are you?

I am thinking/social. I think this is true.

LiveInAHidingPlace · 09/09/2019 06:20

I was around 40% for all of them.

I am very introverted. I could live on a desert island and be fine with it. Sometimes I think I only interact with people because I am worried that I'll turn into a total shut-in if I don't. But most of the time when I'm around people, they annoy me.

elasti · 09/09/2019 06:23

Thinking / social.

Being with people exhausts me Grin

MirandaWest · 09/09/2019 06:30

I was also around 40% for all of them. I have a small amount of people I am happy and comfortable with but basically am fine on my own

DisplayPurposesOnly · 09/09/2019 08:18

I'm so restrained, I'm practically inert Grin

Aprinceinapaupersgrave · 09/09/2019 08:56

Another one who was 40% for them all!
From the descriptions I thought I would be mainly anxious.

OMGshefoundmeout · 09/09/2019 09:05

I’m bang on 40 for all of them too. It surprised me. I like people, have a lot of friends and I’m socially very confident but being around people exhausts me so I like a lot of alone time.

lljkk · 09/09/2019 18:04

Hmmm... maybe we're all really extroverts!!
I found another personality test, has 5 dimensions. It reckons I'm extravert for sure.

Very. There was a point where I had an injury and didn't see anyone but a grocery delivery guy for weeks and was perfectly fine. I have always been happiest when I'm not around people

MirandaWest · 10/09/2019 06:59

I did that other quiz and am still an introvert (also neurotic, anxious and depressed but am being treated for those Smile)

Koshkaloca · 10/09/2019 09:36

Social thinking ☺. I always been so comfortable with my company that I really don't mind to be alone. I have learned to laugh with myself from myself.

Grandma60 · 10/09/2019 13:35

Oh, how I agree with you! Thank you for confirming that I am not alone in enjoying solitude - ha ha!

sassafras123 · 10/09/2019 14:34

The older I get the more people get on my nerves. Humanity sucks most of the time.

user1573624 · 10/09/2019 14:46

I am an introvert. Not shy, quite outspoken. But being around people exhausts me and I'm never bored in my own company. I love being home alone. Always feel relief when social plans are cancelled. Much prefer to work on my own than part of a team though so enjoy to gossip with colleagues. Don't really have anxiety except I don't like to talk on the phone and won't leave answerphone messages. Would always rather have email contact than face to face. I don't think I fit on the graph.

IcedPurple · 10/09/2019 14:48

I got about 40% for most of the 4 tests.

I consider myself highly introverted, but I think this would surprise a lot of people because I can be very sociable when I choose and am also quite 'good' with people. In fact, my job depends on it. However, I feel most truly myself when I am alone and while I do enjoy being with others at times, it drains me and quite quickly I'm itching to leave and be alone.

I also find noise, chaos and bright lights almost physically painful. I think this goes along with the idea of introspection as extreme sensitivity to over stimulation, rather than someone being 'unsociable' or 'shy', as many people assume. That's why people are often surprised when I say I consider myself very much an introvert - I have pretty good social skills, and can be highly sociable, but only within certain limits.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 10/09/2019 14:49

Love spending time with friends & family and I'm happy to chat with strangers at events & so on. But I can't bear the idea of anyone else living with me. It would be stressful and suffocating.

IcedPurple · 10/09/2019 14:50

Much prefer to work on my own than part of a team

Same.

I find the current emphasis on being a 'good team worker' to be quite oppressive. It's very American I think. Of course in most jobs you certainly do need to be able to co-operate with others, but I think it should be acknowledged that many people produce better work when they're just allowed to get on with it by themselves.

A88ie1 · 10/09/2019 15:58

Haha mines pretty high on 99% :D

How introverted are you?
A88ie1 · 10/09/2019 16:01

Basically INFJ but come across a cold INTJ if provoked. :D

64sNewName · 10/09/2019 16:11

I’m 40 on social and restrained, then about 20 on thinking and 10 for anxious.

That feels about right.

IcedPurple · 10/09/2019 16:19

I must say I don't have much faith in this quiz when so many of us seem to have got the exact same result - 40. Surely there should be more variation?

Lardlizard · 10/09/2019 16:23

I idea
I can swing from being very social to really wanting tome alone to recharge ?!
So no idea what that makes me ?

IcedPurple · 10/09/2019 16:28

I think one definition of being an introvert is that while you may enjoy being sociable, it does drain you and you gain energy from being alone. Extroverts are the opposite: they're happy to be alone some of the time, but quite soon they find themselves in need of company or they will feel ill at ease.

So by that definition, you would appear to be an introvert.

Lardlizard · 10/09/2019 17:01

Oh yes, I think I am
