I’m a pretty experimental cook.
Enjoy cooking from scratch and find the whole process relaxing.

Rustled up a quick fridge/store cupboard pasta tonight as I quite often do on a lazy Sunday and it was so bland!

Got me thinking which ingredients go together to create mouth watering tastes.
So sage and pork, Chicken and tarragon, Beef and red wine etc

Any suggestions welcome for next time so I don’t end up with bland pasta and for new meal ideas!

There's a book called The Flavour Thesaurus that is about this very thing. It was from that book that I learned parsnip and peas go really well together (parsnip and pea soup)

Cut an aubergine in half lengthways, criss cross the flesh. Mix honey, harissa paste and lemon juice and brush (generously!) over the aubergines.

Bake at 200c for 25 mins. Serve with couscous, crumbled feta and pomegranate. Delicious!

Pumpkin and fried sage
