Best Decaf Teabags?

swissmilk · 08/09/2019 13:41

I'm on decaf tea, tried a few to find nice ones, currently in Yorkshire Tea Decaf (gross).
Anyone recommend decaf teabags? I want an everyday tea, so not earl grey etc.
I don't like strong/brewed/builder tea, but I do want FLAVOUR!
Am willing to spend £££ for good stuff, but must be in bags.

I am a Yorkshire Tea drinker for caffeinated and like you think the decaf version are vile. I randomly tried the Waitrose Essential decaf teabags (my MIL had some at hers) and they're the best tasting for me. Nothing touches Y Tea caffeine but these are OK.

Dh finds Whittards acceptable.

Tea pigs?

PG tips are my favourite. Not tired "the tasty one" yet

Cara200 · 08/09/2019 14:05

Clipper

MeOnSea · 08/09/2019 14:06

I quite like supermarket own brand: M&S and Sainsbury’s in particular. Like you didn’t like Yorkshire tea, not a fan of PG tips either

user1480880826 · 08/09/2019 14:06

PG tips is the best by a mile. I’ve tried them all. It’s all I drink now.

Peony99 · 08/09/2019 14:08

Agree - PG Tipps!

I'm usually a Yorkshire Tea girl but their decaf is vile.

swissmilk · 08/09/2019 14:28

Compiling a list and will work my way through them, so keep them coming!
Interesting that everyone thinks Yorkshire tea decaf is so rubbish. I was beginning to think maybe I didn't like tea anymore Confused

Waitrose own brand ones by some distance. They’re the only ones that taste like tea.

tillytubby · 08/09/2019 14:36

Pg tips tasty one! It's all I drink now and I've tried a lot. Sainsbury's also quite nice.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 08/09/2019 14:36

My dad likes the gold label decaf from Aldi.

Ginfordinner · 08/09/2019 14:37

Another vote for PG Tips

ladygracie · 08/09/2019 14:38

PG Tips taster of banana somehow when I had some. Disgusting.
I drink ASDA own brand. It tastes like normal everyday tea and is incredibly cheap too!

originaldomesticgodess · 08/09/2019 14:40

We always drank PG ordinary. When my husband was told to cut out caffeine we went through the lot....PG, Typhoo, Yorkshire, finally settling on Tesco own brand!

BackforGood · 08/09/2019 14:47

I like the Aldi de-caff tea bags.
though the decaff instant coffee is poor

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2019 14:51

I like the Yorkshire decaf as my basic bedtime brew, but I've got a very nice decaf Ceylon from Atkinson's in Lancaster at the moment.

GreigLaidlawsbarofsoap · 08/09/2019 14:51

I'm not a tea drinker, coffee only but DH is and he likes either Co-op own brand (when we are skint) or Teapigs (when we are flush).

BambooWhoosh · 08/09/2019 15:03

I like clipper decaf teabags.

The plastic free teabags and chemical free decaffeination method appealled.

BambooWhoosh · 08/09/2019 15:05

decaffeination method used by Clipper.

4forkssake · 08/09/2019 15:07

Co-op by far the best

Jubba · 08/09/2019 15:07

Sainsbury’s own!!!! I’ve drink decaf for years. Tried nearly every single make and I don’t think there’s any better than Sainsbury’s own one. In a blue box. They are almost creamy. Just gorgeous

OrangeSwoosh · 08/09/2019 15:50

Do teapigs do decaf?

Chrestomanciscat · 08/09/2019 16:15

I like one.or two clipper and they're one of the few that use unbleached bags but after a couple I get a coating/aftertaste I don't like. I like Waitrose and Sainsbury's own brand too. Best so far for me us twinnings everyday decaff. ☕♥️

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2019 16:25

The only decaf I've ever actively disliked was tetleys. DH phones me now if he can't see a brand he knows I like to check which not to get.
