Need help staying incognito on mumsnet after accidentally sending my details to friend.

Sent a mumsnet link to a friend tonight and noticed my username and the comment box is on the link.

Tried logging out and it goes but when I log in it appears again. Tried a password change but it doesn’t help.

What can I do?

I have to stay logged out until I sort it

Your username will only appear in the comment box for you, when you're logged in. If your friend views it, it won't be there.

It's because you're opening it...from your account...

When you log out it goes
She won't be logged in. So it won't be there.

Just like if you send someone a link from Google/Facebook/Instagram or anything else, they aren't then logged in as you.

🤦‍♀️Of course she won't see your username if she's not logged in as you. I can't believe you tried changing your password and are surprised that hasn't helped 😂 🤭

Then clearly unless your friend is logged in (as you) when she reads it, you’re fine.

However if any one was given a link by a friend and now see this thread they'll know who you are any way.
