Pressure cooker - am I missing something??

I recently bought a pressure cooker and am starting to wonder if it is a huge waste of money or if I am missing a trick. I can't work out how to use the bloody thing. Instructions are incomprehensible, the recipes seem to take twice as long as if I cooked in the oven, I can't work out how to set the timer and I haven't made one successful meal with it! Am I doing something very wrong??!

Pressure cooking should take about a third of the usual time - what kind of cooker is it, is it electric or a stovetop one?

Electric - it's a 5 litre Pressure King Pro :-)

I love them!

The time recommendation starts after it has come to pressure, so seems longer than you'd expect.

What are you struggling to make? I'll try and help.

It might be worth having a look at some of pressure cooking groups on Facebook for tips and recipes. There are some groups especially for the brand you have but I think the Instant pot is pretty much the same so those groups could also help.
