Party hamper for student - ideas please

My niece is a student, shares a house with half a dozen others.
Last year, one of the housemates was given a collection of cocktail items and ingredients and they had a great cocktail evening and my niece raved about it. Was trying to think of something similar for her forthcoming birthday but not cocktails, and not gin as she doesn't like it.
Fall back would be a few bottles of Prosecco and nibbles for pre-drinks before they head off clubbing.
But the genius minds of MN can no doubt come up with something a bit more interesting. Budget £40 ish

What about doing a hangover box for the day after?

I like the Mexican theme as pp described: tequila and mustaches and sombreros etc.

If you wanted to get more spirits with the theme, can you find any taster bottles of mezcal? It's any drink brewed from agave nectar (so tequila is a type of mezcal), but there are loads of different ones in Mexico. Some almost smokey tasting. Perhaps a selection of small bottles for trying if they're available in the UK?

And don't forget limes and salt sachets! And perhaps a drinking game to get things going?

Or if Mexican theme is too hard, you could do similar with different rums and have a pirate theme?

With the mexican theme there is a lager called Desperado which does a tequila beer and apparently it's really nice
