eBay seller GRRRR!

I ordered some shower screens from EBay with a 24hr courier delivery. They took ages to dispatch and still not received.
Messaged the seller - no response.
Tried the number on their eBay page - doesn’t connect.
Tried the email on their eBay page - doesn’t let you send it.
So I raised a complaint on eBay, saying I just wanted my stuff.

Did a bit of digging and found another phone number online, spoke to him yesterday who assured me he would call me back when he’d spoken to the courier he sent them with - he didn’t call back (I know I should be unsurprised!)

I have to wait 8 days before eBay steps in with a resolution and in the meantime I can’t finish decorating my bathroom and I am so frustrated with not knowing what is going on.

My question is, do I order new screens from a different company? What if the original ones arrive? It’s unlikely but still possible. Buyer pays for returns

Also open a dispute with PayPal if you can - it hasn't got to you within the time frame that was advertised and he has ignored you (apart from the call which you had to find the number for)

Oh I forgot about PayPal, I’ve just opened a dispute with them too.
I think I’m just going to order new screens as this could go on for weeks!

Good idea - and if he suddenly does send the items make sure you video opening them! I've had so many friends open eBay packages and the item not being correct (bricks) or broken etc

Hoping for some advice - the screens I ordered about four weeks ago (the ones with the 24 hour courier) have just arrived.

What do I do? I’ve had the money refunded via PayPal!

I’m not sending them back at my own expense. Do I just pretend I’ve never had them?!

I don’t want them, my bathroom is now finished because I had to get a replacement due to non-receipt!

Don't s a them back - put them up for sale in your local FB seeking sites etc x

HappyBumbleBee · 24/09/2019 19:11

That should say don't send them back lok

Will the seller not be able to see that they’ve been received and put in for a counter claim? (Not even sure if PayPal do counter claims - just paranoid)

@Samb79

I do a lot on eBay and am one of the trusted members on the community boards for "member to member".

EBay is not really suitable for things that are absolutely "time-critical".

You opened a case with eBay for "non delivery" but you cannot also open a case at the same time with Paypal. It is absolutely pointless contacting the seller; it creates hostility and delay.

If I understand you the money has been repaid. You cannot [in all honesty] simply hold on to the screens. You should contact the seller now and advise him to make arrangements to collect.

Leave appropriate and factual feedback. Do not mention any cases or eBay or Paypal!

And I hope the bathroom is splendid

Samb79 · 24/09/2019 20:04

Thanks @ferretyone didn’t realise at the time that you couldn’t open two disputes and eBay closed mine. I was refunded by PayPal. I’ll contact the seller to arrange collection.

With regards to it being time critical, if I select something because it says that it’ll be delivered within a certain time period, it should be expected within that time frame. 4 weeks after a 24 hour delivery is pretty excessive!

By all accounts, looking at the reviews left on his actual online business page, my experience is one of many. So lesson learned!
