Feeling poorly and in pain so have just ordered pizza to be delivered for the children. Should I tip the driver and if so how much? Never had a takeaway delivered before!

I always give them £1

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 06/09/2019 17:25

You don’t have to explain why you ordered a pizza! It’s not a crime Grin

Friolero · 06/09/2019 17:26

I've never tipped a delivery driver, it wouldn't even occur to me to do so!

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat I know, I just feel guilty. I have a fridge full of food but feel unable to cook for the second night in a row 😔

I get a lot of takeaways delivered and have never tipped the driver either... and I'm pretty sure they've never expected it. I hope....!

crazylady7 · 06/09/2019 17:31

i kinda feel bad now.. ive never tipped a pizza guy.. do people do that? Shock

Floralnomad · 06/09/2019 17:31

I generally tip £1-2 but it’s entirely personal preference .

Peakypolly · 06/09/2019 17:34

I usually round it up to the nearest round figure... £13.50 = £15

Redglitter · 06/09/2019 17:34

When I used to pay cash for deliveries I'd round things up. But since I started ordering online I never tip. Delivery charges are expensive enough

nikkylou · 06/09/2019 17:57

I don't even pay the driver....I pay online at ordering.

I think they spend more time parking than they spend at the door. And that's saying something considering how they abandon their car any which way across the pavement....

RedSoloCup · 06/09/2019 19:08

I always tip about 10% they only earn my minimum wage if that.... this is for unsociable hours and often they don't get petrol £ etc
