Find a property surveyor

We are moving for the first time in 10 years. Our offer on a property has just been accepted and we want to get a property survey done. The estate agent has recommended someone but we want to find our own... does anyone have any recommendations how to find one?

RICS - royal institute of chartered surveyors - has a find a surveyor function

I used is a website called sidedoor which is kind of a rics surveyor marketplace... we found the ''RICS find a surveyor ''useless as it just lists them alphabetically with no prices or reviews... we were really happy with www.sidedoor.co.uk

Hope this helps!

Ask your solicitor. Rics find a surveyor. probably wont find prices online as quote done for individual property.

Does anyone have any advise on what survey to get ?
RICS Homebuyer or RICS Building survey?

all depends on age and condition. Homebuyers very good for modern property. but if its older, bee extended, or you've noticed any cracks etc a building survey would be best.

I found this table really useful when choosing what type to use.
honestly using the site sidedoor made it really easy for us to sort a survey. Good luck!
