What do you do with your old clothes?

I am a nightmare for online shopping so my wardrobe is jam packed. I've decided to have a clear out tonight and switch over to my autumn/winter wardrobe and really have a clear out.

I have loads of clothes brand new with tags, I try selling stuff on Ebay/Facebook but they don't tend to sell. Have you got any other places to sell new clothes?

I will give clothes away to my siblings and charity shops but I find the charity shops sometimes refuse as they have so many. Are there any other places to give things away for free? I'd like to help someone out if they need things.

Any other suggestions on how to get rid of somethings would be greatly appreciated please.

I used to take formal wear to a dress agency who used to sell them, it’s still there but I haven’t had anything to take for a while.

With charity shops animal based ones get far more donations than say MIND or ones that help older people. Which ones have you tried?

Apparently Facebook marketplace is good. I'm not on it but friends tell me it's good!

Our local British Heart Foundation will take stuff and pass it to other BHF shops if they have too much, do you have any similar big shops near you?

Facebook selling groups for specific labels like Boden, Joules etc.

Women's refuges maybe? I've never found one with a working email address so never managed to give them anything!

I don't suppose your a size 12 selling summer clothes are you?! Been looking on eBay but can't seem to find anything worthwhile. Maybe try again on eBay, I've seen people just keep relisting until it sells.

I Facebook sell my clothes. It cuts out all the crap you get with ebay.

I take mine to a charity "bin" in a supermarket car park. There's quite a few round near me like salvation army or children charities or cancer charities, they sell what they can and recycle the rest.

We get a lot of charity bags through the door asking for donations of clothing, I fill those and leave them outside on the specified collection day.

There is an Salvation Army charity clothes "bin" in the recycling centre near me. They accept clothes and shoes.

Don't let the struggle to sell change your habits!

Send the stuff you clear out of your wardrobe to charity and make a commitment to yourself to shop better/differently!
